The method of not calling an item on the page until it is needed. This method, which is especially employed so that the page can load more quickly, is generally used to delay the loading of images on web pages with many images. Normally, when users access a web page, images that are not in users' immediate line of sight such as the ones at the bottom of the page are loaded, too. When this method is employed, however, the loading of images that the users do not see at first sight can be delayed. Thus, the page can be loaded more quickly as there will be fewer page elements to load at first.
