Bounce is when users leave a web page without interacting with it and without triggering a new request to the Analytics server. Bounce rate is calculated by dividing the number of single-page sessions by the number of total sessions on the site. Web pages with a high bounce rate may be experiencing issues with their load speed or users simply do not like them. Webmasters must analyze why the bounce rate is so high and address the issue as soon as possible. However, a high bounce rate does not necessarily indicate an issue. It might be caused by users visiting the website looking for some brief information and then leaving once they have found what they are looking for. A web page may have a high bounce rate even if users like visiting the page. So, it follows that the bounce rate should be interpreted on a contextual basis.
