A session is a group of user interactions with your website that take place within a given time frame. When a user visits a website, Google Analytics starts a session for that user. If the incoming visitor does not interact with the web page for 30 minutes, the session is terminated. Webmasters can shorten or lengthen that period. Depending on the content of the website, the session duration can be more or less. Also, it is counted as a new session if a new day starts while the user is still on the website, or if the campaign through which the user was diverted to that website changes and the user visits via another campaign.
